Business name
It is possible to come up with a number of very attractive names for your business however before you commence trading it is important that this name be unique to your business and not a name which is similar to or the same as an existing business. Your proposed business name can be checked out by doing a names search in the Companies Registration Office. If the name is already in use or too similar to an existing business name the Companies Registration Office will refuse to register the name either as a limited company or under the business names section.

It is important to protect your name once you have decided upon a name that is available and therefore it is important that you either incorporate a limited company with the name or protect the name by registering it in the registry of business names.

There are also certain penalties and fines if you trade under a business name which is not registered in your name.
